Emil Nielsen, currently one of the best goalkeeper in the world, will continue his career at One Veszprém HC from 2026, having won practically everything at club and national level in recent years.

Emil Nielsen was not even 20 years old when he was proclaimed his country's greatest goalkeeping talent, in his first year he defended Aarhus' goal with 38% efficiency, by far the best rate in the Danish league. Then a serious illness almost ruined his career, but Skjern gave him a chance and he returned to win the 2018 league title with his team. He quickly became one of the most wanted young goalkeepers in Europe, signing for the French league in 2019 and the Spanish league in 2022, winning everything at club level - league, cup and Champions League - in a single season.

In recent years, he has been a key figure in the almost unbeatable Danish national team, which won the World Championship in 2021 and 2025, and the Olympic title in Paris in between. The past few years have also been outstanding for Emil Nielsen in terms of individual awards, not only as the best goalkeeper at the World Championships in January, but also as the best goalkeeper in the Champions League for the past two seasons (EHF Excellence Awards).
 
Emil Nielsen will join One Veszprém HC in summer 2026, signing a three-season contract until 2029.
