Telekom Veszprém will face HBC Nantes in the new season of the EHF Champions League on Wednesday at 20:45. The game will be broadcasted live by Sport 1.

The last time we met Nantes was in a Sparkassen Cup in Ehingen. The French side managed to win the game by two goals, 32:34. Our top scorers there were Dejan Manaskov and Dragan Gajic with six goals each. From our opponent Nicolas Claire scored the most goals, he was on target six times. According to the EHF, the parties have not met yet in any European series.

The Lidl Starligue has not started yet, hence Nantes did not play any live games this season. We must add, that they could not play many games, because a few months ago, the COVID-19 pandemic went through the team.

There were some transfers happening this summer over at Nantes. Nicolas Tournat left to Kielce, Julian Monet went to Limoges, Antonio Garcia Robledo returned to Spain to Granollers and Senjamin Buric signed with Zagreb. On the arrival side, you can find Adria Figueras from Granollers, Mathieu Bataille from Ivry, Milan Milic from Metaloplastika and Baptiste Damatrin and Thibaud Briet from the youth academy of Nantes.

Telekom Veszprém played their last game on Sunday on home court against Cegléd in the K&H League. The game was an easy win for the “Építők”, they beat the opponent 34:19. The last Champions League game was played in Zaporozhye, where the team brought home a ten goals victory, 22:32, and closed well the 2019/20 season of the Champions League.
