Telekom Veszprém took a visit to Skopje in the last round of the VELUX EHF Champions League in 2019. The game started with a Veszprém goal and although Atman could equalize that goal, after that the guests dominated the game and had a 2:6 lead in the 8th minute. The „Építők” showed a confident performance in both attack and defense, and gained a bigger lead of 2:9. Veszprém scored easily and held the lead of 7:13 by the half of the first period. In the 17th minute, Manuel Strlek got a red card for his fault on Shishkarev. Nenadic played really well as he scored seven goals in 19 minutes. The big lead melted a little by the end of the first half, thanks to some mistakes of Skopje, the seven goals difference stayed, and the teams went on the break with 15:22 Veszprém lead.
 
Second period started with a Vardar goal, but the diference did not disappear. By the 35th minute, Nenadic scored his 11th goal. Vardar nominated three goalkeepers and from them the 19 years old Vasil Gogov showed the better performance. The difference grew to nine goals in the 44th minute, 20:29, and later it even went up to 10. Vardar played faithlessly and nothing worked for them neither in offense, nor in defense. On contrary to them, Veszprém could score from almost all of the attacks. in conclusion Veszprém won against the injury ridden Vardar with great offensive performance, 29:38.
 

David Davis: I am so happy that we could win here against Vardar. Everybody was focused today. Our group is really close, and with every victory you go up, or go down if you lose. I am satisfied with the victory and that we finished the year well in the Champions League. We will see what happens in February.
 
Petar Nenadic: A team that wins here, has to play fantastically and I think we did it today. I cannot be happy fully because of the injury of my teammate, but let’s hope that it is nothing serious. We still have the second part of the season, and everything is possible. It is always great to play here in this hall, in front of these fans. Good luck to Vardar in the rest of the competition.
 

Eduard Koksharov: I do not want to talk too much, I would only like to congratulate Veszprém for the win and the fair game. We have so many injured players, for whom we have to wait still for the second half of the season. If our injured players will be back, we will be able to fight the way we want.
 
Vasil Gogol: Congratulations to Veszprém. They opened the game much better and built a good difference that we could not work off. We think that in the second part of the season, when the injured players are back, we will be able to get better results.
