It is a good news that our French national team winger will strengthen our team for two more seasons, his new contract runs until 30 June 2027.

Hugo Descat came to our club in 2023 from Montpellier. In just one and a half years, he has worn the Veszprém jersey in 60 matches, and in these games, he has scored 217 times. In his first season, he won the Hungarian Cup as well as the Hungarian Championship. In the current season, he became Club World Champion with Veszprém Handball Club.

"Hugo held discussions with the head coach and the sports director in the past few days, where they agreed on ideas for the coming seasons, and everyone thought about continuing together. I am very happy that we were able to agree with the player on a further 2-year extension of his contract so quickly and smoothly, as he is not only an excellent winger, but also a really colourful and good personality who is an important member of our team." - said Dr. Csaba Bartha, the CEO of our club.

Hugo Descat also said how happy he was about the continuation: "When Pasqui and Laci called me and told me that they were counting on me, I felt really honoured, because playing in this team is not only recognition, but also a huge experience in front of such a fan base. I will continue to do everything in my power to help the team achieve our highest goals.”
