As we announced in our previous article today, our team’s left wing Gergő Iváncsik has extended his contract with MKB-MVM Veszprém until 30th of July 2016. Therefore, we made an interview with our player who was chosen to be in world all-star team in 2010.

What were you thinking before your contract has been extended?

First of all, I’d like to say that I’m very happy that I signed the contract after this much time. I had so many things in my mind in the last months, obviously. I also considered the next steps if I hadn’t had the chance to stay, but I hoped that I could and now I’m very happy.

The contract is extended until the end of July 2016. What would you like to achieve during this period?

I’ve been here for more than 14 years and for me every year means a new challenge; it is not boring at all, there is always a new goal for the team as well as for myself. I aim at supporting the team as much as I can and achieving the greatest successes with the team.

You debuted in Veszprém jersey on 16th of September 2000. In what ways have you changed since then?

A lot of things have changed within the team and in my private life. These years were remarkable in a good way. But probably outsiders could tell about it even better.

You have an honourable place in the team’s all-time list regarding the number of matches and scores. How do you feel about seeing your name among such names as József Éles, János Gyurka and István Csoknyai?

I’ve never thought I could get into that list but I must admit that I’ve never given attention to these statistics. In the last couple of months, however, this question has been asked many times so I checked these data. After seeing it, I was surprised. I have never thought that I would be in this great Club for such a long time, and especially that I would be mentioned among those great players in the Club’s all-time list. This is what matters not overtaking the others. It is a huge honour for me and I’m extremely happy.
