Danish Olympic and two-time world champion Lukas Jörgensen will start the 2026/2027 season as a player of One Veszprém HC and has signed for three years. The 26-year-old player was selected for the World Championship All-Star team in January.
 
Lukas Jörgensen turned pro with GOG, where he made his professional debut in 2018, and after a stint in Aarhus, he finished at the top of the Danish league in 2022 and 2023 with Gudme and was named the season's top pivot. He also won the Danish Cup in 2022, when he was voted the most valuable player of the final four.

In 2023, he joined SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the Bundesliga, with whom he won the EHF Europa League in 2024 and 2025, beating Füchse Berlin and Montpellier. After dominating world tournaments in recent years, he won the World Championship in 2023 and 2025 with the Danish national team, and the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he was selected for the All-Star team of the tournament.
 
After the departure of French star Ludovic Fabregas in the summer, it was particularly important for our club to find a player with similar potential for this central position, and we signed 26-year-old Lukas Jorgensen. An international class in both attack and defence, he has signed for Veszprém for three years until the end of the 2028/2029 season.

He is an Olympic and world champion with the Danish national team, and in my opinion the best attacking player in his position, and is also considered one of the best defensively. He is not only a complex player, but also an excellent personality who has been outstanding for the Danish national team and his club in recent years. Seeing the current strength of Danish handball, I am extremely happy that we can count on him for the long term."
