Ahead of the Champions League quarter-final against Magdeburg, we spoke with the team captain of the series, Ludovic Fabregas.

This week, we’re traveling to Magdeburg for the first leg of the Champions League quarter final. What are your expectations for the clash?

One of the most important matches of the season is coming up. Since the beginning of the season, we've been working hard to get to this point and test ourselves. We are sure that a very tough and intense game awaits us against one of the best teams of recent years. It's true that they haven’t performed at the same level this season as before, but I still believe they are very dangerous, especially at home. Both teams share the same goal: reaching the Final4 in Cologne, so it's guaranteed to be a fierce battle on the court.

You mentioned that they haven’t performed at their usual level this season, but now, towards the end of the season, they seem to be hitting better form. What do you expect from Magdeburg?

I think we can expect the usual game from them. They will, once again, make full use of the team’s and players’ abilities, and we’ll see a lot of one against one. At the start of the season, they were plagued by many injuries, which may be one of the reasons they didn’t perform as well as in previous years. They needed time to adapt. However, in recent weeks they’ve been playing really good handball and have gained a lot of confidence from their Bundesliga matches. Now we're seeing that Magdeburg we're used to from past seasons. They have a lot of experience and know how to manage games like this. It will be a tough match and definitely not easy to win in Germany, but that is our goal.
