Robin Molnár, one of the most talented left wingers in Hungary, signs for Veszprém Handball Club at the age of 20. The 195 cm tall youngster, born in Győr, is moving from NEKA to Veszprém, where he signed a two-year contract until June 2027.

He has already tested himself in OTP Bank – Pick Szeged, as he played in Szeged between 2021-2023, first in the club's youth team and then in the second year in the adult team, and what's more, he also made his debut in the Champions League against Celje.

In addition to use their chances with a sure hand, Robin Molnár has also played a decisive role in defence for his teams.

After the youth national teams, Robin also made his debut in the adult national team, as Chema Rodriguez, the national team's head coach, called him up to the squad against Lithuania in April 2023, and he was also included in the recently announced wide squad for the World Cup which will be in January. After a two-year stint in Szeged, he returned to NEKA, where he scored 65 goals in 26 games last season.

Dr. Csaba Bartha, CEO of Veszprém Handball Team Zrt., considers the signing of the talented left winger a major success, and he commented on it as follows:

"We signed a two-season contract with Robin, so he will definitely be a player of Veszprém Handball Club until 2027. I am very happy that a young Hungarian talent accepted our request and decided to test himself in Veszprém. I am sure that we can provide the player with a lot of help in his further development. We would like to thank the management of NEKA for their fair approach in the negotiations, primarily keeping the player's interests in mind, and we also would like to thank the professional team of NEKA for training Robin to the level that he can get an opportunity in a Champions League team."

Molnár Robin said:

“I was surprised when I found out a few months ago that Veszprém was interested in me, of course I consider it a huge honour and a serious challenge to be able to sign for the Hungarian champion, who is participating in the Champions League. I know that I still have a work a lot in order to develop more and more, but I will do everything to prove what I am capable of. We play the so-called Spanish style at NEKA and in the junior national team as well, so I know the system and I am happy that the head coach, Xavi Pascual is counting on me in the future. Every young handball player dream of proving himself in a highly recognized team and in the national team too. It is a dream that this has happened to me, I am very excited for the new opportunity.”
