Telekom Veszprém played a local derby against Balatonfüred. The game started with 1-1 goal, then Yahia suffered an injury in the early minutes. After many missed clear chances Füred could keep them close (8. min 4-4). Strlek had a lot of chances, but he could not turn into goals these opportunities, but Blagotinsek could, who had 4 goals at that time. For the middle of the half Építők ran away by 2 goals (9-7). Maqueda scored goals from fastbreaks and the difference was growing continously. Füred made a lot of mistakes at this time, the home team scored easy goals (23. min 15-10). The second half started with Mahé’s penalty goal. Ilic gave playing minutes for the young player from the beginning of the second half. Cupara made big saves, but the Hungarian national player Rodriguez scored him many goals. Lukács organized the Veszprém attacks and scored nice goals, too (39. min 23-18). The guests came back by 3 goals, so Ilic tried refresh his team with a timeout. Thanks to Cupara’s big saves the guests could not come closer and there was 4 goals difference between the teams (25-21). Mahé scored 2 empty net goals and guests called a timeout. 10 minutes to go Lukács scored a penalty in powerplay. Veszprém kept its lead safe and the young Lukács showed one of the best performance on the game. At the end the crowd could celebrate a nice Veszprém victory with a lot of goals.

Congratulations to Veszprém, they deserved to win tonight, although we put up a good fight! In the first half there were four, in the second half there were three goals between the two teams. They put a lot of pressure on us in the first half, they scored a lot of easy goals from our mistakes, even though we prepared for this. In the second half we defended better against these fastbreaks, and I was happy with our attacking as well, we scored 29 goals against one of the best teams in the world. We had good individual performances in defence, in attack and in the goal too, Arián Andó was excellent. Congratulations to Veszprém again, and I wish them all the best in the Champions League and in the championship too!

 

 

Congratulation to Veszprém, they played very well. It was an important game for us, because on the next week we play against Tatabánya and we wanted to prepare the best way. We cannot giveaway balls as much as we did today, because Veszprém punishes these mistakes. I am proud of my team, because we could compete with one of the best team in the world.

 

 

Respect to Balatonfüred and congratulations to their goalkeeper! I wasn’t satisfied with our performance, our concentration wasn’t good enough, we missed a lot of good chances. Of course, the team is tired, we’re in between two tough games, and I tried to give everyone some minutes on the court, because of the game on Thursday.

 

 

I am happy for the win and we are in a good flow. We prepare game after game and now the most important match is the next one, against Bucharest.
