Telekom Veszprém hosted Csurgó on a Hungarian Leauge game in the Veszprém Aréna. Nilsson scored from the first attack, then Strlek doubled. After 5 minutes the scoreboard showed 5:0, that was why Csurgó called a timeout. Cupara started the game brilliantly, saved a penalty and clear chances. Csurgó could score for the first time in the 10. minute (6-1). Strlek scored many goals in a row, in the middle of the first half the distance was still 5 goals (9-4). The home defence worked very well, Csurgó could not find the hole on it (23. min 14-6). With Strlek’s 8. goal Veszprém earned a 10 goals lead (19-9). From this lead Csurgó reduced one goal.
 
The second half started with fast goals and Mahé scored his first goal in this season from a penalty. A lot of 2 minutes suspensions were on both side. Nenadic scored 3 empty net goals within short time (38. min 24-13)
Csurgó got three 2 minutes suspension within 1 minute. For the middle of the half Veszprém’s advantage was 14 goals (29-15). Veszprém ran away from the guests, 10 minutes to go the distance was 15 goals (32-17). Strlek was on fire, he reached 10 goals in that time. Mahé gave nice assist, mostly to Blagotinsek, who scored many goals in the endgame. At the end we could see an easy Veszprém victory.
 

David Davis: We took this game very seriously, which was important this week. Csurgó did well in the preseason. We were a little bit preparing for the weekend as well, where we will be fighting for the SEHA League cup! Congratulations to my team, I feel like we are about to hit the level we are supposed to be on right now. Even more happiness for me, that Kentin Mahé is back. Best of luck for him!
 
Kentin Mahé: First of all we can be happy and proud of our performance. We showed respect to them and we gave 100 percent. We tried to score goals as much as possible against a team, that lost by only one goal against Kielce. It was a good preparation for the Seha Final Four. I am happy that I could step on the court after a long time, it was emotional for me. I see the light at the end of the tunnel again, I am happy when everyone appreciate my efforts.
 

 
Norbert Baranyai: You cannot play a good game without faith and willingness. This game was decided in the first 10 minutes. We collapsed totally, and our defense was lacking rhythm. We conceded a lot of fast break goals, while in offense we were dull and a bit cowardly. Veszprém’s victory is well deserved.
 
Gyula Kerkovits: The match was over after the first minutes of the game, it is a shame on us. There is no such a big difference between the teams, we gave up from the beginning. Congratulation to Veszprém for the victory. We try to be better in the following period.
