Telekom Veszprém faced Gyöngyös on home court. Blagotinsek missed the first clear chance, on the other side Vilovski did not miss. The guests started bravely, after 5 minutes they were leading by two (3-5). In the goal Corrales stood, he saved several shots and a penalty, too. In attack Mahé was the playmaker and after his assist Marguc equalised. Veszprém could not used well the first Gyöngyös 2 minutes suspension, the guests could keep the one goal difference (15. min 7-6). Corrales was on fire, Shishkarev and Lékai came back to the court after a long time. After 20 minutes play Moraes increased the lead to three goals (10-7). Corrales saved the second penalty too, then with Tönnesen’s another goal Veszprém ran away by 4 goals. Blagotinsek earned a penalty before the final whistle and Yahia scored it.
 
After the break the game was continued with two Gyöngyös goals and Mahé scored the first home goal after 5 minutes. The beginning of the second half there was a big battle, the teams could not get through on the 6:0 defences. The home team started to play worse, so Davis changed in many positions. Gyöngyös came back to 2 goals (21-19) before the last 10 minutes, Davis had to call a timeout. 6 minutes to go Gyöngyös equalised. The guests had a ball for the lead, they called a timeout and they scored. With Strlek’s two goals Veszprém took back the lead. Gyöngyös equalised in the last minute, but Lékai scored a buzzer beater.
 

David Davis: Considering that we played this game after Kiel, we did well, but we had to break to show a good performance. The attitude of the players was not like against Kiel. Gyöngyös always plays well against us, and we were not so good today. We were suffering, but we managed to win with the las second goal of Lékai. Sometimes it is not so easy to give everything. Good luck to Gyöngyös for the rest of the season.
 
Máté Lékai: Congratulation to Gyöngyös they played a really good match. We had 5 goals advantage in the break, but we could not be satisfied, beceause we missed a lot of clear chances. At the end we almost lost because of my mistake, but luckily we won with my goal. I am very angry, I hope in the future me and the team will play better.

 

 
Csaba Konkoly: Congratulations to Veszprém, we played a great game. I liked how we got back into the game. We played with a lot of mistakes in the beginning, which Veszprém punished right away, and gained a five goal lead for half time. During the break we talked about our mistakes, but we kept making them in the second period as well. Around the 50 minute mark, we could turn the game around. We tried everything we could but we could not use the chances we got. I am proud of my team, because they did 60-70% of what we talked about in the locker room. We are sorry how it ended, but this is sport. Veszprém needed a little bit of luck this time to win, but staying on the ground of reality, they kept the two points well deserved.
 
Martin Gráf: Congratulation to Veszprém. We wanted to play a fast, running match. After the 5 goals difference in the break we could come back. We made the game slow and our defense became harder. There was a close game at the end, where we did not have luck.
