Telekom Veszprém hosted Orosháza on the first home game in 2020. Veszprém led the first attack and Blagotinsek earned a penalty and Gajic scored that. Veszprém ran away very quickly to 4-0, that was why Orosháza called a timeout in the 4. minute. Veszprém goals came easily, while Orosháza was suffering in every attack. A lot of shots were blocked by the home defence, what went throught Sterbik saved them. In the middle of the first half the standing was 10-2 and came another guest timeout. That time Borozan, Nenadic and Nilsson stepped on the court. Sterbik had a great day, in offence Nenadic gave nice assists. In the 26. minute the distance was 10 goals for the first time and for the break it increased by one additional goal.
 
The second half started with a guest goal and Blagotinsek answered right away. The home team played around the pivotes and made it efficiently. Orosháza made a 4-0 run after 20-8 and came back to 8 goals, but Manaskov stopped them from the wing. The guest goalkeeper made some nice saves, on the other side Székely came into the goal. In the 45. minute the guests could keep the 8 goals distance (23-15), but Veszprém increased to 10 again with two quick actions. Gajic scored all of his penalties and reached 7 goals 10 minutes before the end. Székely saved a penalty and Nilsson made the result to 30-20. The final result is 33-22.
 

David Davis: We play a lot of games in different competitions, and no matter how we start, we have to keep the level up. The game was good for us. Good luck to Orosháza. The team of Ratko Djurkovic is better than what they showed today. All the best to them.
 
Dragan Gajic: We played a good first half, we showed respect to our opponent. In the second half we played worse, we lost the focus, but it is normal. Thanks to Orosháza for the fair game and good luck to them in the future.
 

Ratko Djurkovic: Congratulations to Veszprém. It must have been hard to get into tempo after a tough clash with Kiel in the Champions League, but they showed how good of a team they are. We started the game as little girls. I was very angry at the half time. In the second half, we could correct some mistakes and could be equal partners to our opponent. I could be satisfied at the end.
 
Szabolcs Döme: We did not start the game well, we played with a lot of mistakes. In the break we got a head cleaning and we could be equal partners in the second half. Congratulation to Veszprém for the victory.
