Vardar – Veszprém pregame statements

HC Vardar will host Telekom Veszprém in the last group game of 2019 in the VELUX EHF Champions League. Before the upcoming important clash, we asked the expectation of our head coach and players.

David Davis: Vardar is the titleholder of the Champions League and they are playing at home, where they collected most of their points. They are suffering from injuries, like everyone but they want to win all games at home. They are going to play hard and win the last home game of the year in the CL. I think there will be a full house in Skopje, which will make our job tougher. We will also need the points to finish the year as high in the group as possible.

Dejan Manaskov: We will play a really important game in Skopje. They lost some games recently so they will be extra motivated. The hall will be full so it will be nice to play there. We have to concentrate on ourselves and give everything we have. If we have a good day, I think that we can win there.

Petar Nenadic: We are playing against the current Champions League winner. We played amazingly at home against them, but it will be a long game there and have to be focused for sixty minutes. If we want to achieve a good result there, we have to be there in the head and concentrate. That is it.

Pawel Paczkowski: We expect a really hard game, as it is always difficult to play there. There will be a really hot atmosphere and we know what kind of team is Vardar. They are always dangerous, regardless of the injuries that suffered lately. We are sure that is going to be a hard game but we want to win. Now we are on the track again to fight for the first place, so we need to get those two points.
