The EHF Champions League 2024/25 competition starts with our guest appearance in Berlin. Thus, we talked to Ludovic Fabregas, who will be the team captain of our team in this competition series.

The Champions League also starts this week, are you and the team excited about it?

Of course, we are really looking forward to participate in the CL, especially after last year, unfortunately, the quarterfinals marked the end for us. We have high expectations of ourselves. It is no wonder that everyone is excited about the start of this competition. The Champions League will begin for us in Berlin, where we will play a very hard and tough game. We are preparing against them and want to fight them in Germany as well.

We are not in the stronger group, but we will still play difficult matches. What do you think about this?

Both groups are equally difficult for me. Our opponents are very good teams, one by one, and I am sure that it will not be easy to get one of the first two places, which leads to the quarterfinals. This way you can avoid the round of 16, where there are also serious duels. However, I do not want to rush so far ahead, since we are currently only and exclusively dealing with Berlin. This match is the most important thing now, then we will see what the future brings. What is certain is that we will start the new Champions League season against a club with an excellent squad of players.

You will be the team captain in the CL, what does this mean for you?

I am incredibly proud to be the team captain of Veszprém in the Champions League. This is another milestone in my career and of course I am excited about the tasks ahead. I still have a lot to learn about the responsibilities this entails and how to handle certain situations, but I am sure it will be a very good experience. As always, I want to give my best performance and I will do everything for the team, the club and the fans. Once again, I would like to thank the fans for supporting us at home and for accompanying us on numerous occasions and in good numbers.
