Before the last home Champions League game of the year, we spoke with our Icelandic player, Bjarki Már Elísson.

After one week we are going to play at home again in the Champions League. What is your expectation about the match against HC Eurofarm Pelister?

I am sure that the game against Pelister will be very difficult, just like all the Champions League matches. We want to win every clash, and this will be no different on Thursday. Moreover, this will be our last Champions League match this year at Veszprém Arena, so we want to “say goodbye” with a victory. We will do everything to keep the two points at home.

At the end of October, we played against the North Macedonians, but since then they have a new head coach. How do you think their game has changed since Raul Alonso is in charge?

They haven’t lost a single match since our last match, so they are in good form. Raul Alonso recently arrived in Bitola, so he didn’t manage them in all the matches of the aforementioned successful period, but that doesn’t really change anything, as they are undefeated and successful with him as well. We are preparing for them and analysing their tactics a lot in order to get to know the handball they play with the arrival of the new head coach.

How do you see our performance until now in this season?

In my opinion, we have had a pretty good season so far. It is true that we had two games where we didn’t play well, and we lost. Of course, we are really sorry that, but I think the whole team has improved a lot even with these losses. We are in a good position in the Champions League and in the domestic championship and we will fight to keep it that way in the future.
