French national team player Nedim Remili continues his career at Telekom Veszprém. The 1,95 meter tall right back signed a 3.5-year contract with our club, thus strengthening the squad of Veszprém until 2026.

The world-class handball player comes to Veszprém with immediate effect from Industria Kielce to replace our injured player Yahia Omar. Yahia's injury put us in a complicated situation, as it is even more difficult to find a quality player during the season, whose arrival can sustain the goals set for the year. I would like to thank the owner, Lőrinc Mészáros, and the company exercising ownership rights, Duna Aszfalt Zrt., for making an extraordinary financial sacrifice for the success of handball in Veszprém in this complicated economic situation."

Remili was born on 18 July 1995 in Créteil and started his handball career in the local team. Between 2013 and 2016, he played in the team of his hometown, then transferred to the French star team, Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent 6 years. During this time, he won the French championship six times, the French Cup 3 times, and the French League Cup 3 times. The 27-year-old player played in the Champions League during his time in Paris and scored a total of 441 goals.

In the summer of 2022, another change came in Remili's career, he signed a contract with the Polish team Kielce, which did not last long, as he transferred to our club after half a year. The French right back has scored 26 goals so far in this year's Champions League, and we hope that he will continue to increase his number of goals from the knockout stage. Because the Olympic and world champion handball player cannot play in the group stage according to the regulations of the EHF (European Handball Federation).

Remili is also a key player in the national team, he has played in 69 matches so far, scoring 216 times in these matches. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he was able to reach the top step of the podium and was even selected as the best center back in the All-Star team. He can also call himself a world champion, since in 2017 he and the French team won the gold medal in France. Just like at the Olympics, he was selected for the All-Star team at the 2017 World Championship, this time as the best right back. They won the silver medal at the World Championships, which ended in January, after losing to Denmark in the final. He was also named to the All-Star team at this event as the best right back. In addition, he is a one-time World Championship and one-time European Championship bronze medallist.
