We have agreed to continue working together with Nedim Remili, meaning the French playmaker and back will remain with us until June 30, 2029. In the cases of Luka Cindric and Thiagus Petrus, we have exercised the option included in their previous contracts — the Croatian playmaker will stay with us until 2028, and the Brazilian defensive specialist until the summer of 2027.

“We are striving to identify the cornerstones of Veszprém’s future squads as soon as possible, and these three agreements fit perfectly into that strategy,” said Dr. Csaba Bartha, CEO of Veszprém Handball Team Zrt. “In consultation with head coach Xavi Pascual and sports director László Nagy, we quickly decided that this trio can continue to play a major role in helping us achieve our goals both domestically and internationally. Nedim’s class has long been known - he has been a true leader of the team this autumn. Thiagus became a pillar of our defense almost immediately after joining, while Luka displays the kind of playmaking qualities that can guide us toward success. This past summer, we also welcomed world-class players such as Ivan Martinovic, Yanis Lenne, and Ahmed Hesham; next year, Emil Nielsen and Lukas Jörgensen, both Olympic champions, will join us as well. But we are continuing to work to make our squad even stronger.”

Remili joined us two and a half years ago from Kielce and quickly became one of the team’s leaders. “This is already my fourth season in Veszprém, and I still feel just as good here as when I arrived. I will fight and give everything for the team, the fans, and the city. I want to thank the supporters for the love they showed me when I arrived in February 2023. It’s an honor to play for this club. I believe the future here is bright - let’s keep going together and make our dreams come true,” said our French star upon signing his new deal.

In the case of Luka Cindric, who sets a professional example for the younger players, we also exercised our option. We firmly believe he will continue to lead the team as brilliantly as he did at the 2024 IHF Super Globe. “I’m very proud of the trust that the One Veszprém management has shown by extending my contract for another two years. It’s an honor to represent this club. Both on and off the court, I’ll do my best to help us achieve our goals together. Hajrá, Veszprém!” - said our Croatian playmaker.

As for Thiagus Petrus, who has been performing excellently in the center of our defense, we originally signed him to a 1+1 year contract before the season. It quickly became clear that the partnership was working perfectly, so we exercised our option. “I’m thankful for another year, and it’s great for me and my family that we made an early decision about my future,” said the Brazilian star, once voted the best defender in Europe. “I really like the Veszprém project and I’m happy to continue being part of it. My teammates and the fans have helped me feel at home here very quickly. I’ll keep pushing forward to achieve even greater things with this amazing team.”
